Studio 52nd gives children from disadvantaged areas in Amsterdam East the chance to write and perform their own theatre piece in collaboration with professional theatremakers. Their main objective is to increase the confidence in these children. At the Heutink Foundation, we are more than happy to support these great efforts! In 2018, the Heutink Foundation made a financial contribution to Studio 52nd to offer children the opportunity to perform a theatre piece for their parents, neighbours and classmates in a real live theatre show.
Social programme Studio 52nd
In addition to the theatre programme, Studio 52nd also offers a social programme where children receive extra attention in between the theatre projects. After a two-year project, they guide these children to other organisations where they can further develop. This will encourage them to continue participate in local initiatives. In addition to play writing and performance projects in Amsterdam East, Studio 52nd also focuses on creating and offering local writing projects throughout the country.
